30 km/h in built up areas

During the 2nd UN Global Road Safety Week FEVR and her member associations will lobby for a general adoption of a 30km/h speed limit where pedestrians and cyclists have to share the roads with motorized traffic

risk of death for a pedestrian when hit at 70km/h= 100%

risk at 50km/h

Chance of survival when hit at 30km/h:practical 100%

This is a ” silver bullet” to save lives and reduce severe injuries among vulnerable road users, especially children, older citizens and people with a reduced mobility
